Pillars of Light & Love is a registered 501c3 charity founded in 2014
Enriching the lives of those with disabilities through participation in inclusive social sessions focusing on art, music, health & wellness, theatre, dance, community service, and more in the heart of the Cedars Shopping Center.
Because we believe communities are strongest when they embrace diversity in all its forms, each and every individual is welcomed to the So Much to Give Inspiration Studio with dignity, respect, and genuine belonging! Whether we are dancing, engaging in a creative endeavor, singing Karaoke, or assembling "blessing bags" for the underprivileged, our inclusive social sessions are designed to foster friendships and encourage ALL to utilize their gifts and talents to become contributing members of our So Much to Give community AND the community at large! Our sessions are open to the general public, and many participants attend independently while others are accompanied by a parent, sibling, or staff member at no additional cost.*
Because we are located right in the heart of Cedars Shopping Center near Skippack, PA, weekly social sessions include lunch and dinner outings at our nearby So Much to Give Inclusive Cafe, which employs over 40 differently-abled teens and adults and has been a beacon of acceptance and inclusion since its opening in November of 2022. These adventures provide inherent opportunities to build independence, improve communication skills, and practice self-advocacy, money management, and more. Community integration is further promoted through participation in activities during our sessions such as:
- Caring for our outdoor areas and So Much to Give Inspiration Garden
- Relaxing outdoors on our beautiful patio
- Taking walks around the complex and visiting local businesses
- Making trips to our storage shed to obtain items or put items away
- Delivering items to the cafe' or picking up items from the cafe'
- Participating in cafe' events such as Movie Nights, Game Nights, or Dinner Shows
- Selling craft items and So Much to Give merchandise on Flea Market days
Those who drive or who have a staff member or parent to transport them may also be provided additional opportunities to meet new people through engagement in the following activities:
- Hand-delivering "blessing bags" to nursing homes and other settings
- Helping to make off-site presentations about our mission to potential donors
- Making pizza box deliveries to Guiseppe's, one of our revered community partners
- Representing So Much to Give by "Manning" tables at events and pop-up shops
Our inclusive social sessions for teens and adults are under the direction of Mrs. Maureen Stanko, former 30+ year Methacton School District teacher (Gifted/Reading Specialist), Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and local musician. Maureen has recently become a Licensed SPELLERS Practitioner, and she has worked hard to ensure that our instructors and volunteers understand the importance of presuming competence in ALL of our participants. We now offer social sessions for spellers' groups and their communication partners, and the frequency, topics, activities, and duration depend on the accommodations needed by those organizing the groups. For those who wish to experience Bingo and Trivia Nights or other events at the So Much to Give Inclusive Cafe, times can be arranged to make it convenient for a single group to experience both community settings in one trip. To organize a private group or any other type of event such as a birthday party, e-mail Maureen at somuchtogivePA@gmail.com .
Have young children and wish to make social connections? For those with children ages 2-5 and their siblings, we now offer an inclusive monthly social session the 2nd Saturday of each month called Totally Terrific Tots. Highly-engaging, thematic activities for "littles" include a read aloud, obstacle courses, crafts, and more! Parents attend with their loved ones, and siblings are welcome, making this an excellent opportunity to connect with other families.
Already an Established Inspiration Studio Participant? Feel free to e-mail InspirationStudioSMTG@gmail.com to sign up for social sessions! Not sure what would be a good fit? Request a call from Maureen, and she will gladly help!

*Pillars of Light and Love is the non-profit organization responsible for making the So Much to Give Inspiration Studio a reality! The charity does not discriminate on the basis of a disability and strives to ensure access to social opportunities and community integration for EVERYONE. Please note that individuals who require assistance with daily living or personal care are required to attend our studio sessions with a family member or caregiver. This ensures that participants in need of 1:1 care will receive the appropriate level of support while allowing our dedicated instructors and volunteers to maintain the safety of everyone benefitting from the socialization opportunities that we offer.

Pillars of Light and Love is a 501c3 non-profit with headquarters located at 511 W Main St. in Trappe, PA, just outside of Collegeville at the Empowering U Center. The charity was founded in 2014 by Kathy Opperman, the President of the organization, with the mission of teaching life and stress management through empowerment programs for ages 5 to adult. A variety of workshops and support groups are offered for youth and adults to learn skills to build confidence, coping techniques, positive communication skills, resilience and healthy relationships.
Since the inception of the charity, Pillars has offered well over 1,000 free workshops and support groups along with youth empowerment programs, some of which include BE ME Kids, Julia's Joy, COURAGEOUS KIDS, and the annual Julia's Joy Voice Idol Competition for ages 11-18. Through all of our programs, we strive to empower youth and adults to become the best and most peace-filled versions of themselves by learning self-acceptance, self-responsibility and self-love. See upcoming programs and workshops, and learn more, by visiting Pillars of Light and Love's website.
The "Pillars" of light and love reflected in the charity's name are those in the community who help us by volunteering, facilitating support groups and workshops, attending our Monthly Kindness Projects, and further supporting our mission by finding creative ways to share their time, talent, and treasure. In October of 2021, just as Kathy was seeking to expand the programs at Pillars to include those in the community with disabilities, one such "pillar," Maureen Stanko, known only as a Facebook Friend to Kathy, contacted her with an idea....

Maureen wanted to fulfill a pressing need in the community by creating a program to provide opportunities for young adults with disabilities to gain personal fulfillment by utilizing their unique gifts and talents to make a positive difference for others. With Kathy's help, So Much to Give was launched as a program of Pillars of Light and Love in January of 2022. Maureen is a former 30+ year Methacton School District teacher, a certified Health & Wellness Coach, Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, local musician, and mother of Nicholas, who has autism and apraxia. The So Much to Give Program was created to enhance the lives of those with disabilities and their families by providing opportunities for socialization, volunteerism, parent support, and community integration....

Participants in the So Much to Give program have been providing community activities since January 2022 where differently-abled adults gathered with the help of volunteers to participate in music, crafts, puzzles, games and fun! Participants make items to distribute in the community because Maureen believes that EVERYONE has "so much to give" to the world! Many new friendships and support systems have evolved from the So Much to Give Program. This photo is from February of 2022, when one of the first groups of participants decorated hearts to distribute to the elderly in the community.

The So Much to Give Inclusive Café, opened its doors in November of 2022 thanks to the support of our amazing community, who helped us raise over $150,000.00 for the cause! The mission of this full-service restaurant is to empower all people, including those with disabilities and their families, to have equal opportunities to work, dine, socialize, volunteer, and learn. There are currently over 40 employees at the café, and we have dozens more on a waiting list for employment!

The So Much to Give Inspiration Studio opened its doors in July of 2023 because we believe that meaningful social connections have the power to inspire, uplift, support and transform everyone, especially those with unique abilities. Our team is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where participants can forge friendships, explore their creativity, and share their gifts and talents. Follow the Studio on Facebook HERE.

We are looking forward to chatting with you about the sessions being offered and how we can best accommodate our participants at the So Much to Give Inspiration Studio!
